CALGARY PARTY SHOES
I was working an 'Oscar Night' inspired gala, and there was no shortage of great footwear to go with all the glamour!

Pretty boots are fine, but one day I said to myself, "Self, ya gotta get something that is actually warm!"
This is what I've worn in the winter for the past 5 years...sure, I get them dirty, but they have stood up wonderfully to the weather! I also bought my husband a pair at the same time... and he still is wearing his too. I'd definitely do L.L.Bean again for winter boots!

These are neither alligator nor patent leather... but I cant resist a textured, shiny shoe! So I'm ok with that :)

What wonderful people I have in my life... gifts that celebrate my love of shoes :)
Those little red ones are actually re-usable freezable ice-cubes! And in the glass bottle, mix for making cranberry cosmos!

Probably the most unusual shoes I've ever bought. White patent leather? Who wears that? Other than Elvis?! And me I guess. All those buckles were the clincher.
I found these at ALDO. Did you know 'Aldo' is a real man, from Montreal?

While photographing a Christmas party for an Edmonton Oil & Gas company, I spotted lots of great shoes! I love how I can say 'Who are your shoes by?', and a woman can immediately answer :)
Middle pair were Kenneth Cole, Leopard print were Calvin Klein, (but I didnt catch the third pairs maker).

I've finally come to the last pair of shoes from the Paris shopping trip. They happen to be the very first pair I bought on our first day there. No designer name, just a cool pony-hair white and brown-spotted heel. Rue de Rennes had been touted as a good street for shoe stores, and we happily found out that it really was!

It's the 75th anniversary of the first ever penny loafer: Bass's weejun. I dont happen to have a pair of those, but I did get something similar while I was in Paris! I dont know who Rudy is, but I'd like to say "Mr. Rudy, you make goood loafers!"
I had fun grabbing a pair of argyle socks to complete the look :)

Christina & Josh were celebrating some Scottish heritage with his and hers plaids on their wedding day!

Danielle was all about personality, when it came to everything about her wedding. Of course including the shoes :)
From across the pond! One of the best gifts/souvenirs I've ever received :) My mamasan went to Edinburgh, Scotland and returned with these, the most-awesome-rainboots-ever!

My favourite seamstress is in Ontario. Luckily though, where ever you are, you can custom order Tracy's designer accesories, including this genius design of hers: the boot cozy! Contact her at The Log Cabin Sewing Studio.

High-fives to Jill, for doing what not a lot of us have the nerve to do: dish out for a really expensive pair of rubber boots! Classic Burberry pattern! (purchased locally, at Holt Renfrew)

My last trip to California also yielded a pair of short boots for fall :) This Nine West design reminded me of those vintage aviator jackets!

Even with weddings, there are trends and styles that come and go. Something I really noticed in abundance this year was a return to flat and comfortable shoes for brides! These are just two samples from some of those bridal shoes I saw. (the white Birkenstock's I though was brilliant for comforts sake!)
